Peter Maravich is one of Baton Rouge's most famous personalities. He has scored the most points per game in NCAA basketball history. He was nicknamed Pistol Pete and he played at Louisiana State University under his father. Further, when he started playing professionally he was with the Utah Jazz, Atlanta Hawks, and Boston Celtics. He expired in the year 1981 and is buried in Baton Rouge's Resthaven Cemetery.
